Born Real Estate History

The idea was simple, combine technology with a human touch to enhance the real estate experience.  

 

After working in the Silicon Valley, surviving the tech bubble collapse and seeing the excessive speculation in Internet-related companies between 2000 and 2002, The firms’ founder, Jason Born, realized there was a huge underserved market and opportunity. Residential property owners were in need of a company that understood their needs and could service the luxury property market. 

 

There was and is an identifiable and growing niche in the market as more quality properties were being offered for rent because people did not want to sell and/or tax laws made it less advantageous to do so. Holding property is a great way to preserve and enhance wealth in California for the long term. 

 

Silicon Valley had many property management companies that measured the success of their business by the amount of “doors” they managed, but there were few to none who focused on client and resident satisfaction. For example, investors in a multi-tenant property look to squeeze every last dollar from the asset and push for the highest rents, whereas the luxury property owner is more interested in preserving the property and obtaining the highest qualified applicant.  

 

Jason understood that if the resident was well taken care of, they would treat the property better and pay higher rent, a win for both parties. The model was to follow the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

 

In 2005, Born began building a business that started with one client and grew not by acquiring antiquated old-school property management companies or inheriting a book of business from a family member as is common in the industry.  Born met every client face to face and built a solid reputation by leveraging technology solutions with bespoke, full-service, white-glove property management. It was not a get rich quick scheme but rather a “slow and steady wins the race” mentality. 

 

From a single person operation, the business evolved into a departmental structure firm where strategies and policies were documented, processes and systems were built around the industry's best practices and technology to enable a team of people to be collaborative, efficient and successful. In addition to property management, Born also developed systems and strategies to assist buyers and sellers in successfully concluding residential property sales transactions. 

 

Born Real Estate, Inc, founded in 2016, combines the best technology and professional service to enhance all real estate searches in California. The mission continues today by providing the best in class real estate sales and property management services.
